Everyone sells beef now, so what makes you different?
Well, we're glad you asked. We have been in the cattle industry for many years. We have strived to educate ourselves to make sure we have the best end product. This includes deep research on genetics, nutrition and overall health of the cows. We 100% believe that cattle that live a low stress life make the best beef. We practice low stress handling and don't interfere with our cattle for unnecessary reasons.
While many farmers offer farm fresh beef, we truly believe that the small details of our operation makes the difference. We've worked for more than 5 years to put beef production practices in place and we are finally ready to start offering retail meat to the public.
Grain Finished, what's that mean?
All cows are grass fed. We offer grass fed, grain finished beef. This means we assess each individual cow and determine how long it needs to be fed grain before slaughter. This allows us to add the extra tenderness and flavors our customers have known and love.
Do you use antibiotics or steroids?
We do use antibiotics in our herd. Does this mean you're eating antibiotics? No. We will not let a sick animal remain sick. Period. It's not fair or in good practice to let a sick cow stay sick or withhold medicine.
With that said, if we give one of our cows antibiotics, then we sell that particular cow and it is not used for slaughter. We use genetics and selection to breed and retain cattle who are naturally disease resistant.
We have never used steroids or growth hormones of any type in any of our cattle. We don't plan to start now.
What payment options do we offer?
We strive to make R5 Beef available to as many people as possible. Currently, we have multiple ways to purchase our farm-fresh beef.
